Case study: Brugal

We were approached by Maxxium UK, responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution for some of the UK's leading premium spirits brands, to provide a simultaneous or conference interpreter for a 4 day assignment at various hospitality venues throughout the UK. There were two principal speakers and approximately 40 delegates. The floor language was Spanish with English as passive.
The conference was held as a training session for key members of the drinks trade to learn more about Brugal, a golden rum from the Dominican Republic and one of Maxxium UK's newly launched brands.
The keynote speaker was one of Brugal's Maestro Roneros (rum masters) from the Brugal distillery in the Dominican Republic. He spoke about the history and background of the Dominican Republic, of the brand itself and the individual production process of his brand.
There was also a Brugal rum masterclass, followed by a tasting and Q&A session.
Of our Spanish interpreter our client said:
"The events went very well and I was very happy with {our interpreter}'s performance. Most importantly the client was very happy and felt the simultaneous interpreting added huge value to the events which is great news. {Our interpreter} was very professional throughout - a great asset to our team on the events!"
This is a typical example of the type of assignment we conduct on a regular basis.
