The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, active worldwide. The institute promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and fosters international cultural co-operation. Their cultural and educational programmes encourage intercultural dialogue and enable cultural involvement.
In March 2014, Language Connect was engaged to translate information texts (approx. 21,000 words in total) from their web portal “Mein Weg nach Deutschland” from German into 14 languages including Farsi, Simplified Chinese and Thai. The portal is aimed at immigrants who follow their spouse to Germany, to prepare them for their life in Germany, and is co-financed by the European Integration Fund.
In addition, Language Connect has translated another project across 15 languages, including information about German examinations for immigrants. The translations were done from German again into languages such as Arabic, Korean and Japanese.
Project managed by our dedicated German translation teams in Munich and London, we delivered the translations before the given deadlines to the client. To ensure consistency on the website, the same translators have been used for follow-up projects.
Before we even started the project, Language Connect provided us with competent, quick and uncomplicated advice, as well as adapting spontaneously and flexibly to various changes in the process and contents of the project, which we couldn’t predict in the beginning.
The translations were delivered very swiftly and have partly been added to our website already. The users of the web portal are continuously giving us positive feedback with regards to the quality of the translated texts.
We will definitely reach out to Language Connect again for future requests and would like to thank the team for the great collaboration.
