Macmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.
Macmillan Cancer Support produces leaflets and fact sheets for patients affected by cancer. The documents contain important information about specific treatments, different types of cancer and practical guides about life with cancer. Often, these documents include medical terminology.
Language Connect provides an ongoing translation service in commonly used UK languages including Polish, Urdu, Chinese, Welsh, Gujarati, Russian, German, Hindi and Indian Punjabi.
To save Macmillan money on their projects, we have developed a translation memory resource which provides valuable discounts on repeated translation. In addition, we have worked with Macmillan to provide a cost effective solution around their workflow including large project management and typesetting.
We have trusted the organisation with translation of many of our cancer information resources, which include booklets and fact sheets on topics such as specific cancer types, treatments and symptoms. As a result we have been able to offer our much-needed information in languages such as Russian, Hindi, Bengali, traditional Chinese and Polish.
Language Connect have always offered an extremely professional service which has been quick, accurate and accommodating to our needs. The organisation have gone above and beyond by hosting fundraising events to support our work which we have greatly appreciated and has added to the outstanding level of service they provide. I would certainly work with Language Connect again and envisage that Macmillan Cancer Support will continue to do so.
